Advocacy
As the national chamber of commerce for women, we are the premiere policy leader on women's economic issues in America.
The USWCC doesn't follow - we lead. We don't simply respond to federal, state, and local legislation. Instead we lead the discussion - pushing elected leaders to address our issues. And, we actively engage and leverage the community of individuals and organizations who embrace Womeno: Women to the Ownership Power - the women's ownership movement.
Our leadership includes the founding of the USWCC | National Congress on the Economic Advancement of Women which includes dozens of organizations from across the U.S. This community of leaders is focused on economic advancement, setting the record straight on the economic condition of women, and advancing the policies and strategies that will bring about true change.
We have championed access to federal contracts for women business owners (the USWCC filed a claim against the U.S. Small Business Administration to force them to implement the six year old law establishing the women's federal contracting program), protecting women's retirement, advancing work-life friendly policies for working women, providing access to affordable healthcare for all Americans, policies that lower the number of women living in poverty, and policies that protect and advance educational opportunities for women.
We can take strong stands because we do not focus on handouts from corporate sponsors. Instead, our complete commitment is towards you - our members. The USWCC will always be on your side driving for economic opportunities.
Tools for Economic Growth
We know that advocacy is important. But, advocacy doesn't get down to the local issues of business and financial growth. We understand our members need strategies for business growth and ways to obtain quality products/services at prices that will enable them to remain competitive. We know our members need assistance with education and tools to secure their retirement. And, we know our members have the capacity and ability to do business with one another to advance the economic prosperity of our community.
USWCC has established several tools to advance our community. We have established the USWCC | National Guide to Women Contractors to position you in front of buyers across the U.S., the Women's Global Network to help our members engage in the world market, women business owner certification, and more.
And to dramatically propel our economic growth and the reinvestment in our community, the USWCC has founded USWCC | New Deal: The economic force of the women's ownership movement. The most revolutionary aspect of USWCC | New Deal is our ownership of a new economic force created and owned by the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce to enable our community to OWN our future.
