In celebration of the anniversary of women getting the right to vote, we will be discussing the passage of HR 4203 - The Women’s Procurement Improvement Act of 2012, and the Breakthrough Campaign to get the legislation passed in the U.S. House.

This important issue affects more than just women-owned businesses. It affects the economy and hiring; it affects employees of those businesses; it affects the employees of any vendor or supplier of the business. It affects all of us!
We all need to be involved in letting Congress know that we are expecting them to stop talking at us and start talking with us. We need to get this legislation passed in the House. WE all need our voices to be heard!
This vital piece of legislation will provide much needed refinement of the restricted competition program by removing contract dollar thresholds, by adding a sole source program that is in alignment with the
8(a) HUB Zone and Service Disabled Veteran Programs, and by removing the Contracting Officer’s obligation to approve self certifications.
